Absolight is a rising alternative rock trio from Quebec, Canada, born from the spontaneous reunion of drummer Antony Jomphe and twin brothers Olivier and Carl Ricard, long–time friends and former bandmates. Originally called In Foes, the band evolved from an impromptu jam session into something much more. Carl’s driving basslines and Antony’s infectious drumming create a tight, dynamic rhythm section, while Olivier’s commanding vocals and versatile guitarwork round out the lineup of this powerful trio.
Heavily influenced by the legacy of British rock, Absolight blends energetic alternative rock with complex sonic textures and unforgettable melodies. Their sound often stretches beyond rock, incorporating elements of punk, pop, and even classical music. This eclectic style has led to frequent comparisons to renowned British rock bands like Muse.
Since 2023, Absolight has taken the stage at numerous events, sharing the spotlight with established acts such as Simple Plan. Their electrifying live performances have continued to captivate audiences and solidify their reputation in the alternative rock scene.
In 2024, Absolight (In–Foes) made a significant breakthrough by performing at the Canadian Music Week (CMW) festival in Toronto. This performance marked a turning point in their career, as it led to a collaboration with a team of industry professionals.
