About me
Joe Caviston is a seasoned digital marketing expert, live event promoter, and logistics mastermind. With a wealth of experience in the Tri-state area and DMV, he currently provides top-tier marketing consulting for some of the region's leading music venues and promoters. Joe is also the founder of the Electric City Music Conference and the Steamtown Music Awards, and serves as the Director of Marketing and Communications at Central Penn College.
Caviston's journey began in true DIY punk fashion—organizing shows wherever he could. With over 20 years in music and marketing, he’s seen firsthand how the industry has evolved. After spending a summer working with the Vans Warped Tour, Joe opened the Scranton-area venue Eleanor Rigby's and promoted concerts at iconic venues. He’s also served as booking agent for and managed several success acts.
As one half of the wildly successful touring EMO Night duo, Joe has helped sell out venues up and down the East Coast and is behind various "party" events that have also become major hits. His expertise in digital marketing extends to bands, businesses, and start-ups, offering strategic advice that drives growth.
Joe embodies the misunderstood saying, “A jack of all trades is a master of none,” but he’s quick to remind others of the second half of the phrase: “…but oftentimes better than a master of one.” His versatility and ability to adapt have been key to his success.
Beyond his work in music and marketing, Caviston has served as a trustee on several boards, delivered keynote addresses, and been a commencement speaker, continually giving back to the community.
