Chicago-based artist Moon Destroyer aims to be out of this world and up with the stars. Incorporating elements of pop, rock, alternative, punk, and electronic music, Moon Destroyer highlights emotional themes with a large sound that incorporates influences like Paramore and Foster The People.
Gifted a guitar at age 12, Moon Destroyer's love of music grew quickly as a child. During high school and college, she served as front-woman in Erie, Pennsylvania-based garage rock band, Wasted Info. The trio released the full-length album Tacos, Paint Fumes, and All the Other Essentials in the Fall of 2020. After the end of the band in 2022, Moon Destroyer moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado, where she began writing music for Moon Destroyer. In the summer of 2024, she moved to Chicago and started performing within the city.
The solo act's first single, “Can’t Sleep”, debuted in Spring 2024. Since the release, Moon Destroyer has played shows in Chicago and Erie, Pennsylvania, and released a lyric video for “Can’t Sleep”. In the Fall of 2024, “Views from the Carousel” by I SHOULD BE FLOATING was released. The album includes four songs featuring Moon Destroyer: “Nothing, Nothing”, “Patience”, “Gravity”, and “A Calm Before the Storm”. Moon Destroyer's next single “Holy Mountain of Self-Destruction” releases on February 28th, 2025.
